Forever Tango
Saturday February 11, 2006
Walking into the theater to see Luis Bravo's Forever Tango, my friend turned to me and said, "So what are we going to see besides the tango?"
In this age of 30 second sound bytes, it's hard to imagine audiences sitting still for two hours of the tango. But that's what you get with this extravaganza celebrating the dramatic music and dance of Argentina. And audiences have been sitting still through it since 1994, some of them seeing the show over and over.
Let me just say that as we exited the theater, I wasn't surprised to hear my friend say "I wouldn't mind seeing that again".
