In Brazil, Roberto Carlos is King
Friday March 24, 2006
Although it is common knowledge that the Beatles are the biggest selling musical group of all time, common knowledge sometimes comes up short. In the 1990s, Brazil's Roberto Carlos outsold the Beatles. In fact, when his 1977 album Falando Serio came out, it sold 2.2 million copies on the first day it was released.
After a career spanning more than 40 years, Carlos is still going strong, singing his own brand of Brazilian ballads. He has for years held the title of the "King". Move over, Elvis!
