Soundtrack : La Mujer De Mi Hermano

Wednesday April 19, 2006
La Mujer De Mi Hermano was one of the biggest cinematic hits in Latin America last year. Directed by Ricardo De Montreuil and based on the book by Jaime Bayly, the film is the story of a love triangle gone bad and brings with it a soundtrack that is a steamy as the movie itself.

With original music by Venezuelan composer Angelo Milli, the soundtrack (listen) is a audio tour of Latin alternative and electronic musc. Included are songs by Andrea Echeverri (from Aterciopelados), Tanghetto and the sound of electronic tango and "Mentira", a classic La Ley tune that's been reworked by Beto Cuevas.

I think that one of the reasons soundtracks have become so popular is that it's a good way to hear new music and new artists without buying an entire album before you know you'll like the music - sort of like a Picks list from the movie makers.

La Mujer De Mi Hermano is currently playing here in the U.S.
