Latin Music Concerts for June
Monday May 29, 2006
It's almost June, the month when we honor fathers and brides. It's also the month that kicks off summer on June 21st, the summer solstice and longest day of the year (if you're in the northern hemisphere). The summer solstice is a traditional time for celebrations and festivals, and nothing creates a festive atmosphere like the sound of Latin music wafting toward you on a late spring breeze.
Spring also brings a rare appearance of Bebe, plus Los Kumbia Kings, Sin Bandera, Marco Antonio Solis and more.
There is one concert that looks interesting: Reggaeton Meets Hip Hop on June 10 at the Nassau Colliseum. The show sounds like a lot of fun, the venue is huge and the tickets are pricey, but I could not find any details on what groups are performing. If you know who's in the show, leave a comment so other reggaeton / hip hop fans can get the lowdown.
