Juntos en Concierto 2006: Great Latin Voices on Tour
Wednesday May 31, 2006
Marc Anthony, Marco Antonio Solis and Laura Pausini on stage together? In the world of Latin music, it doesn't get much better than that.
There are 20 cities in the U.S. that are going to have a chance to see and hear this musical dream team on stage this summer as the Juntos en Concierto 2006 Tour starts on the west coast July 14, moves east and ends up in NYC / Madison Square Gardens Aug. 9 (with a final encore in the 'windy city" Aug. 12).
This is a concert where there's bound to be at least three different genres of Latin music filling the airspace. Italian pop singer Pausini has recorded albums in Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and English, but it was her Spanish-language Escucha that won "Best Female Pop Vocal Album" at the 2005 Latin Grammys.
Mexican singer/songwriter Solis is a legend in the romantic music genre and single-handedly sold out both Madison Square Garden and the Miami arena in two days last year.
And, for the very few of you who don't know, Marc Anthony has been the world's biggest selling Latin music artist for years. He's sure to bring the audience hot New York salsa as well as his own, unique brand of romantic boleros. Although, with Anthony, you never know what you'll get. A while back, I heard him belt out a fantastic version of "Hotel California". Luckily, it was an outdoor event, or it would have blown the roof off.
