CD Review: Julio Iglesias - Tango (Remastered)
Tuesday August 8, 2006
Julio Iglesias is much better known for singing Latin pop music than traditional tango, but in 1996, he went back to his Spanish roots and released Tango, a unique album interpreting tango his way.
Sony Legacy Recordings, founded in 1990, has been delving into their vaults finding those gems that are worth enhancing, remastering or just reissuing so that todays collectors and music lovers can get a second chance at owning a classic - and one that has been enhanced by today's audio technology. Among their labels are RCA and Columbia, both with catalogs that go back 100 years to pretty much the advent of what we think of as the recording industry.
While Columbia label Tango is not really old, the selection of this album for reissue is good news for all classic lovers of Argentine tango.
