Orishas U.S. Tour
Monday September 4, 2006
If you haven't heard Orishas yet, you're in for a treat. The Cuban hip-hop collective is actually from France (where they are definitely NOT in exile) and blends Cuban timba, son and jazz with modern hip-hop and rap. What comes out is music that's complex and brimming with energy.
You can see Orishas perform "Que Pasa" on video by visiting the Orishas Website. Once you've had a taste of this original Cuban hip-hop hors d'oeuvre, you're going to want to sit down and have the entire meal.
Tour Dates
9/7 - Houston, TX, Planeta Bar-Rio
9/8 - Austin, TX, Bass Concert Hall
9/10 - Chicago, IL, House of Blues
9/15 - Miami, FL, James L. Knight Center
9/16 - Orlando, FL, Hard Rock Cafe
9/17 - Atlanta, GA, Tabernacle
9/21 - Charlotte, NC, El Palomino
9/23 - New York, NY, Nokia Theatre Times Square
9/24 - Washington, DC, 9:30 Club
If the Orishas U.S. Tour does not stop in your neck of the woods, the tour edition of their third album, El Kilo, will be hitting record stores on September 12th.

Comments
Actually, the members of Orishas ARE from Cuba. As far as I know, they ARE in exile and haven’t been able to return to their homeland.
