Mayre Martinez Is Latin American Idol

The first season of Latin American Idol ended October 26th with Venezuelan Mayre Martinez grabbing the title after her final round dual with runner-up Noelia Seto of Argentina. Voters from 24 countries in the Caribbean and the Americas called-in or text-messaged their votes to hand Martinez the crown.
While the 'American Idol' franchise has spawned 33 versions running in as many countries around the world, Latin American Idol is the first Idol contest to span countries. Auditions were held in Mexico City, Buenos Aires, Bogota and Caracas; 25,000 hopefuls showed up for a chance to become the first Latin American Idol.
