January Latin Music Concerts Sparse

Tuesday January 2, 2007
It looks like many of your favorite Latin artists are taking a break for the New Year, either to wind down from a busy holiday itinerary or to wind up for 2007 tours. As a result, the normally large list of Latin music concerts is abysmally small.

There are a few bright spots. Brazilian singer Bebel Gilberto (daughter of Joao Gilberto) will be performing a couple of concerts with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra which sounds like an interesting pairing. By the way, Gilberto should be releasing a new album titled Momento sometime this year.

Also worth seeing in January is Poncho Sanchez and his Latin jazz orchestra, one final Ricardo Arjona concert and an evening with controversial Gloria Trevi.

After a slow month, February looks like it'll be heating up again.
