Grammy Award Winners in Latin Music

It's only been a few months since the Latin Grammy Awards in November, so there were few surprises as the winners in the Latin music categories were announced last night at the 49th Annual Grammy Awards.

Lately, when I read about a Latin musical artist, I notice that the article will list Latin Grammies separately from what they call 'regular' Grammy awards. I wonder if one is more prestigious than the other or if there's a different benefit of winning one over the other? I'm not sure what the answer is - what do you think?
