Latin Alternative Music Festival
Wednesday June 6, 2007
The term "alternative" music is used to talk about music that is not currently popular in the mainstream or commercial market. Some of it is good, some not so good, some great - depending on your taste. But it's always interesting and is the cauldron that's continually brewing the next sound and, potentially, the next musical superstar.
Every year, the Latin Alternative Music Conference (LAMC) brings us an opportunity to hear and see some very talented artists working in the areas of rock, hip hop, electronica, funk, punk and everything in between. Besides music industry panels, there are always great concerts held to showcase the new, the eclectic, the unexpected.
This year's LAMC will again be held in New York City, July 10 - 14th, with the eagerly anticipated concert scheduled for Friday, July 13th in Brooklyn's Prospect Park. This year's lineup will feature Zoe, Chetes and The Pinker Tones, among others. It may be the concert that you'll remember for years to come.
