CD Review: N'Klabe - A Punto De Estallar
Wednesday July 4, 2007
Speaking of salsa romantica, N'Klabe's album A Punto De Estallar is a good example of the genre. The Puerto Rican trio's last album, I Love Salsa, showed the promise of a group who's salsa might get better and better until they finally burst out with a realized, unique sound.
N'Klabe's third album, A Punto De Estallar, is a little disappointing. Their emerging musical identity is just a little too smooth. It's pretty music, with wonderful vocal harmonies and nice, pop-like orchestration. But I like my salsa hot; someone needs to hand a bottle of tabasco sauce to the band.
