If you happened to watch the Premio Lo Nuestro Awards last spring, the stand-out favorite artists seemed to be the young bachata-fusion group, Aventura.
Today Aventura is met with applause and screaming fans, but it wasn't that long ago that this Bronx-based group faced 'boos' when they performed before a large, Dominican, New York audience.
Not anymore. Aventura's music has both the lilting, island rhythm of traditional bachata, the more contemporary elements of hip hop and r&b and lyrics that reflect the conditions of metropolitan life today.
Aventura's musical formula is a hard combo to beat.
