Tijana's Latin Music BlogLatin Music Concerts for May, 2008May is a busy month for Latin music. I've put together a large list of events including evenings with Juanes, Aventura, Sergio Mendes, Vicente Fernandes, Roberto Carlos, Pepe Aguilar, Albita and more. There are also a number of Cinco de Mayo concerts sneaking up on us right now; even though it's a little bit last minute, I'll give you a list of some of them in the next blog.
In the meantime, the ALAS concert, El Concierto Por Los Ninos, has announced the times and venues for the May 17th concert, simultaneously occuring in Buenos Aires and Mexico City. The Buenos Aires concert will be held at the Constanera Sur reserve, starting at 2 PM while the Mexico City event will be hosted at La Plaza de la Constitucion (known as El Zocalo) and is scheduled to begin at 5 PM (both local times). The concerts are expected to draw over 300,000 fans; 40,000 tickets were grabbed at special will-call windows in B.A. in just the first 24 hours of availability.
