It sometimes happens that one artist /one album claim the imagination of a Latin music loving public while reaping praises from the critics. But has anyone ever had as successful a year as Juan Luis Guerra?

With the release of his 2007 album La Llave De Mi Corazon, Guerra went on to sweep the Latin Grammy Awards, winning in all 5 categories for which he was nominated. La Llave picked up the 'regular' Grammy Award for 'Best Tropical Latin Album' and topped the list of award winners at the Billboard Latin Music Awards. He was also named 'person of the year' by the Latin Recording Academy.

To my mind, Guerra and La Llave deserve all the accolades they were accorded.
