It was a sad day for Spanish-speaking teens when the telenovela Rebelde aired its final episode but the music played on as the show spawned Mexico’s superpop group, RBD. Long after the TV series was history, RBD continued to release hit albums, pack frenzied fans into concert halls and feed the gossip media with every bump along life’s road for the show’s six superstars.
There may be another similar phenomenon coming our way as MTV Tr3s premieres ISA TKM (Te Quiero Mucho). The soap opera has already premiered in over 22 countries in Latin America and claimed the #1 spot for 12 – 17 year olds in Mexico, Argentina and Brazil.
Along the lines of Rebelde and High School Musical, ISA TKM follows a group of teens through their loves, losses and musical ambitions. ISA TKM debuts June 22, 2009 at 5 pm on MTV Tr3s.
