Review: Frankie Negron - 'Independence Day'

Friday September 25, 2009

Frankie Negron joins the ranks of artists trying to find new markets by crossing over in both language and musical style with Indepence Day. Having made his name as a young and popular salsa singer, Negron's new album is primarily in English and the music is primarily his own version of power ballads making Independence Day something new for Negron in every respect.

The question is: will Negron succeed in selling his new sound to the English-language market? That's a question that listeners will need to answer for themselves.
