Prince Royce and Romeo Santos Bring Bachata Face-off to The Billboard Latin Music Awards

By March 2, 2012

Follow me on:

The list of finalists for the 2012 Billboard Latin Music Awards, confirmed the current popularity of Bachata as a mainstream phenomenon. To a large extent, this is the result of the music that Prince Royce and Romeo Santos have produced in recent years. The two artists, who are among this year's top nominees, are having a new test of their already popular face-off in different categories including awards for Artist of the Year, and Album of the Year.

Althought Prince Royce and Romeo Santos are not really fighting each other, Bachata fans have been recently faced with the challenge to choose their favorite artist among these two stars. Having said this, I would like to ask you the same question: Prince Royce or Romeo Santos? I invite you to express your voice in the following poll.

I’m #TeamRomeoSantos, but I want Prince Royce to win because he’s a newcomer, and newcomers deserve a chance. Romeo is great, but it’s time he gave up his crown to someone else and let someone else shine for once…

It really isn’t even close. . Prince Royce takes the battle. Prince Royce’s first album was soooo good, that it went 3 times platinum. Romeo is trying to compensate for the sudden competition by saying, “the king stays king.” . . just sounds like he himself is feeling the heat. Prince is only 22 years old he is the now and the future, listen to “Te Me Vas” and especially “Incondicional” from his upcoming album Phase II and you’ll see the big difference of quality in music. Not even close.
