Latin Music Stars Get Ready To Honor Caetano Veloso

This year, The Latin Recording Academy is honoring Caetano Veloso, one of the most influential Brazilian artists in history, with the Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year award. The ceremony, which is part of the events included in the celebration for the 2012 Latin Grammy Awards, has already confirmed an outstanding lineup of Latin music stars who will pay tribute to one of the most prolific careers in Latin music.

Some of the performers include top names like Colombian superstar Juanes, Dominican icon Juan Luis Guerra, Brazilian singer Ivete Sangalo and Latin Urban artist Mala Rodriguez. This selected group of artists is just a fraction of a list that also includes well known stars such as Nelly Furtado, Natalia Lafourcade, Maria Gadu, Alexandre Pires, Enrique Bunbury, Natalie Cole, Lila Downs, Seu Jorge and Tania Libertad.

The Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year gala will be held on November 14 just one day before the Annual Latin Grammy Awards. A portion of the proceeds from the gala event will go to Caetano Veloso's chosen charity Fundacion Viva Cazuza in Brazil.
