This year, El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico, one of the most influential bands in the history of Salsa music, has been celebrating its 50th anniversary with a worldwide tour that has taken the band to places like Japan and Australia. To wrap up this special anniversary, El Gran Combo has just released a new 42-track compilation album featuring some of the most famous Christmas songs recorded by the band since its inception in 1962.
The new album is entitled Greatest Christmas Hits of The Last Half Century - Patria, Tradicion & Navidad and all the original tracks have been remastered for this production. This is definitely a very exciting release just in time for Christmas time. The album includes popular hits such as "No Hay Cama Pa' Tanta Gente," "El Arbolito," "Asalto Navideño," "Alegre Navidad" and "La Fiesta De Pilito."
Besides the Christmas-related tracks, this production includes other popular songs like "La Loma Del Tamarindo," "Los Zapatos De Manacho" and "Lirica Borinqueña." One of the nicest things about Greatest Christmas Hits of The Last Half Century - Patria, Tradicion & Navidad is that it features all the singers the band has had since 1962 so you can enjoy tracks from people like Andy Montañez, Pellin Rodriguez and Joseito Mateo. If you are looking for some Salsa and traditional Puerto Rican music for Christmas this is definitely the album you need to get.
