Jenni Rivera, the popular Diva of Banda Music whose sudden death shocked the Latin music world last month, is the absolute queen of Billboard's Latin music charts this week. Her last work La Misma Gran Seņora, which was released only a couple of days after her tragic accident, is the number one album on the Latin Albums and Regional Mexican Albums charts.
Similiarly, the Pop version of her hit album Joyas Prestadas is on top of the Latin Pop Albums ranking. The same production is on the second spot of the Latin Albums (Pop version) and Regional Mexican Albums (Banda version) charts.
The first week of 2013 has also seen a strong performance by some of today's top Latin Urban artists. Wisin y Yandel, Daddy Yankee and Tito El Bambino are the hottest names on various charts. For instance, Wisin y Yandel's "Algo Me Gusta De Ti," a hit song from the album Lideres, is on top of the Latin Songs chart followed by Tito El Bambino's "Por Que Les Mientes" and Daddy Yankee's "Limbo." These three singles are also competing against each other in additional charts including Latin Pop Songs, Tropical Songs and Latin Airplay.
