The Latin Songwriters Hall of Fame (LSHOF), a non-profit organization honoring the world's greatest Latin songwriters, has just announced the names of its first five inductees. Julio Iglesias, Manuel Alejandro, Jose Feliciano, Armando Manzanero and Jose Angel Espinosa "Ferrusquilla" are the iconic artists who will be honored next Tuesday, April 23 at the organization's first-ever induction gala.
This special announcement was made by the Hall's founders Desmond Child and Rudy Perez alongside Latin music artists Natalia Jimenez and Jon Secada. The new inductees will be honored with the Hall's La Musa (The Muse) Award. The inaugural induction gala (in association with Billboard) will be hosted by actor John Leguizamo at the New World Center in Miami.
During that ceremony, singer and songwriter Natalia Jimenez will also receive the organization's Premio La Musa Elena Casals, which has been created to honor a young female songwriter. The upcoming event will also feature top Latin music performances that will be announced soon. Stay tuned for more news about this exciting event.
