Jencarlos Canela was born on April 21, 1988. He was born and raised in the city of Miami, and like most Hispanics from that place, his parents were originally from Cuba. His music career started in 2000 when he joined the band Boom Boom Pop. After two years with this group, he embarked on a solo career.
