Here are the notable Latin music concerts for January 2009.

1. Ramon Ayala

I get a lot of requests asking when Mexican accordionist Ramon Ayala will be performing; this one's for all of you.

2. Marc Anthony

Proud new papa of twins Marc Anthony will be appearing at the MGM Grand in January; you can also catch him at Madison Square Garden for Valentine's Day.

  • Jan. 24: Mashantucket, CT - MGM Grand at Foxwoods

3. Grupo Fantasma

Here's a good act from Austin, Texas. Grupo Fantasma is a large band that mixes Latin rhythm with an original funky style.

4. Ram Herrera

For those of you that follow Tejano music, Ram Herrera is a name you're surely familiar with. Herrera was nominated for a Latin Grammy Award in 2007 for Ram Herrera and The Outlaw Band 2007 .

5. Jenni Rivera

Banda princess Jenni Rivera will be performing for her many fans in California.

6. Alejandro Escovedo

One of the best things about Latin music in 2008 was Latin rock and Alejandro Escovedo has been having a good run performing Texas-tinged rock to an appreciative public.

7. Molotov

Mexico's seems to produce some of the best rock bands in the world, and Molotov is way up on the list. Musically their sound is rock / hip hop; thematically you never know what they're going to say next. Their lyrics are funny, witty, daring, irreverent and always entertaining.
