Here are my picks for this month's most notable concerts.
1. Luis Miguel
The ever-popular Luis Miguel kicks off his Complices 2008 Tour this month, his longest to date. He'll be singing numbers from his current album Complices as well as the older standards you all love.2. Grupo Niche
Colombia's prime salsa dura band, Grupo Niche has some dates in the Western U.S. this month. This is one of my favorite salsa groups and they don't play here all that often, so check out the cities and dates.
- Sept. 24: Anaheim, CA - House of Blues
- Sept. 25: San Diego, CA - Blue Agave Nightclub
- Sept. 27: Seattle, WA - Showbox SoDo
3. Marc Anthony / Alejandro Fernandez
Here's a double bill for lovers of romantic ballads and charismatic performers - Marc Anthony and Alejandro Fernandez together on stage.. It gets even better in Woodland Texas when Enrique Iglesias joins the popular duo.- Sept. 4: Miami, FL - American Airlines Arena
- Sept. 7: Woodlands, TX - Woodlands Pavilion (with Enrique Iglesias)
- Sept. 13: Irvine, CA - Verizon Wireless Amphitheater
4. Enrique Iglesias / Aventura
You might think that Latin pop's Iglesias and bachata's Aventura are an odd couple when it comes to sharing a concert bill, but they both sing lots of romantic ballads, just in different styles.5. Marco Antonio Solis
Mexico's Marco Antonio Solis seems to spend more time producing and writig songs than actually performing them, which makes three concerts in one month a treat for fans. By the way, Solis won the 2008 ASCAP award for 'Songwriter of the Year.'- Sept. 06: New York, NY - Madison Square Garden
- Sept. 13: Las Vegas, NV - Palms Casino Resort
- Sept. 20: Mountain View, CA - Shoreline Amphitheatre
6. Los Tigres del Norte
Los Tigres del Norte tour alot - in fact I find it hard to figure out when they do anything besides make music - in the studio or on the concert stage. That energy level is good news for Los Tigres fans and maybe their families go on the road with them.7. Jaripeo De La Decada
'Jaripeo De La Decada" features a bill of Mexican favorites including Los Tigres del Norte, Pepe Aguilar, and Chapo de La Sinaloa.- Sept. 7: San Jose, CA - HP Pavilion
- Sept. 27: Los Angeles, CA - L.A. Sports Arena
- Sept. 28: Denver, CO - Pepsi Center
8. Intocable, Ramon Ayala, Aliados de la Sierra, German Montero
A concert by some of Mexican music's most popular performers, they're together at last in Chicago.
- Sept. 20: Chicago, IL - Aragon Ballroom
9. Gilberto Santa Rosa
'The gentleman of salsa", Gilberto Santa Rosa seems to be on the agenda every month this year, but it's usually only one concert. This month the lucky city is Westbury, NY.- Sept. 27: - Westbury, NY - Capital One Bank Theatre
10. Elvis Crespo
Elvis Crespo, the 'King of Merengue' journeys to Michigan this month for a concert that will guarantee to get fans out on the dance floor.- Sept. 13: - Hinckley, MN - Grand Casino Hinckley Event Center
