Latin Music Concerts for November, 2007

By , About.com Guide

November is a great month for concert goers with tours by Vicente Fernandez, RDB, Cafe Tacuba and Alejandro Sanz. But there were so many other worthwhile acts hitting the stage, that it was difficult to limit the list. So, here are the concerts that I would go to if I could be everywhere these artists are performing.

1. Vicente Fernandez

Vicente Fernandez, the ever-young king of ranchera, moves into the second month of his tour schedule. Songs from his album Para Siempre, with songs composed by Joan Sebastian, should feature prominently in the concert - although I've heard that his concerts can easily exceed 3 hours, so he's bound to sing the songs you love.

2. RBD

Rebelde's RBD is winding up their 2007 Celestrial Tour with two more dates. Last chance!

3. Alejandro Sanz

Alejandro Sanz' latest studio album, El Tren de los Momentos came out at the end of last year, but the Spanish singer/songwriter is just starting his El Tren de Los Momentos Tour. Most of the dates are in November, although there's a few follow on performances scheduled for the beginning of next year.

4. Cafe Tacuba

For fans of Latin rock, Mexico's Cafe Tacuba has been a big draw for nearly 20 years. Their new album, SINO was released last month, which is probably the reason fans will be treated to a tour with 22 dates as the band rocks their way from east to west across the country.

Concert Tour Schedule

5. Caetano Veloso

Just completing 40 years as one of the biggest names in Brazilian music, here's your chance to see this brilliant artist in person.

Nov. 2: Boston, MA - Orpheum Theatre
Nov. 4: Washington, D.C. - Lisner Auditorium
Nov. 14: Pasadena, CA - The Pasadena Civic
Nov. 19,20: New York, NY - Nokia Theatre Times Square
Nov. 23: Tampa, FL - Tampa Bay Perf Arts Center

6. La Quinta Estacion

Like Julio Iglesias, La Quinta Estacion is also from Spain, but that's about the extent of the similarity. This pop/rock group's popularity seems to be exploding lately.

Nov. 7: Las Vegas, NV - Hard Rock Hotel
Nov. 9: El Paso, TX - El Paso County Coliseum
Nov. 24: Los Angeles, CA - Nokia Theatre

7. Julio Iglesias

The ever-popular Spanish crooner still draws big crowds whenever he sets foot on a stage.

Nov. 7: Universal City, CA - Gibson Amphitheatre
Nov. 8: Reno, NV - Silver Legacy Casino
Nov. 12: San Francisco, CA - Nob Hill Masonic Auditorium

8. Aventura

If fan hysteria is any indication, Aventura has got to be the most popular Dominican group in the world today. Starting out with straight-forward bachata, the group has added elements of R&B, hip hop and reggaeton to their music. Sorry, only one concert this month.

Nov. 10: Uncasville, CT - Mohegan Sun Arena

9. Ceu

Brazilian CeU is riding the success of her self-titled debut album CeU, which has met with popular and critical success this year. The Pacific northwest seems a natural place for her to perform; her album was selected as a Starbuck's Hear Music program. Since Seattle is the original home of Starbucks and probably has more coffee shops than any other city in America, there's probably a lot of people that want to hear, in person, the voice they heard over coffee.

Nov. 7: Portland, OR - Aladdin Theater
Nov. 9, 10: Seattle, WA - Triple Door

10. Intocable

The ever popular tejano/norteno group Intocable is not currently on tour, but they do have two big dates in Houston - right in the middle of their home state where their popularity knows no bounds.

Nov. 8: Houston, TX - Arena Theatre
Nov. 10:Houston, TX - Arena Theatre
