Top 10 Latin Music Concerts - February 2007


After a slow January, things are really picking up for fans of Latin music. This month there's reggaeton, salsa, lots of tejano and Latin pop and rock acts to brighten those gloomy February evenings.


Mexico's premier rock group, MANA, is kicking off their 'Amar Es Combatir' Tour this month. If you love 'rock en espagnol', this is an occasion not to be missed. Tour dates and cities are in the linked article.

2. Los Tigres Del Norte

When Los Tigres Del Norte recently toured in Mexico City, they performed to sold-out crowds of over 120,000 roaring fans. With a Latin Grammy for Historias Que Contar, being named the BMI Songwriting Icons for this year and a new album coming out in March, they've booked these unusual arenas to accommodate what will surely be large crowds.

3. RBD

With the release of their new album Rebels, RBD is ready to hit the road, supporting the album and serenading us with many of its hit songs.

4. Concierto Del Amor

Just in time for Valentine's Day (if you're in New York), salsa's Victor Manuelle and Gilberto Santa Rosa, along with reggaeton's Don Omar will be performing for your special someone. This concert would be a much better gift than a box of chocolates!

5. Los Amigos Invisibles

If you haven't heard Superpop Venezuela, then make a date to see one of these scheduled Los Amigo's concerts and see what all the fuss is about. If you have heard them, you've probably already gotten your tickets.

6. Julieta Venegas

Mexico's alt-rocker supreme, Julieta Venegas will be performing in California, singing songs from her Latin Grammy winner Limon Y Sal. Attend a concert, order some limon y sol (don't forget the tequila), sit back and enjoy the evening.

7. Wisin Y Yandel

Radio City Music Hall, home of the Rockettes, will be hosting reggaeton's high-kicking rappers, Wisin Y Yandel. If you can't be in New York, try their 2006 compilation album Los Vaqueros.

8. Valentine's Reggaeton Bash

If your valentine is more reggaeton than smaltzy romance, then maybe this is the concert for her/him. This special Valentine's concert features Rakim & Ken-y, Alexis & Fido and more.

9. Conjunto Primavera

There are two opportunities to hear the ever popular norteno sextet, Conjunto Primavera this month. Their latest album, Algo De Mi has been nominated for a Grammy this year, so why not go hear what all the acclaim is about?
