The 2008 Latin Grammy nominations are in and here are videos of the nominees for "Record of the Year." It doesn't look like there are any big surprises on the list but this is a chance for you to catch-up on the singles that took the Latin Academy by storm.
When you're done, you can go and vote for your favorite. It won't bring them closer to winning (or not winning) but at least you'll have the satisfaction of voicing your opinion.
1. Andrea Bocelli & Laura Pausini - "Viva Ya!"
One of the things that Andrea Bocelli and Laura Pausini have in common is that they're both Italians that also sing (and sell well) in Spanish. My questions was did Pausini have the voice to keep up with operatic tenor Bocelli? You be the judge.

2. Cabas - "Bonita"
3. Cafe Tacuba - "Volver A Comenzar"
The Mexican seminal rock group Cafe Tacuba (or, more precisely Tacvba) is the big winner (so far) with six nominations for their great album, Sino.

4. Juanes - "Me Enamora"
Whether or not you like the new, matured style of Colombian superstar Juanes reflected in La Vida, no one can resist the hummable big single from the album.

5. Julieta Venegas - "El Presente"
Mexico's alt-rocker Julieta Venegas took a chance making an unplugged album since live performance is not really her strong suit. With the help of friends like Natalie Lafourcade. Marisa Monte and La Mala Rodriguez, the bet paid off - big time!
