Anahi - 'Mi Delirio'
Of all the members of the popular band RBD, Anahi is the one that seems to have the sexy moves that are required to make it big as a female pop star these days. Her debut album, Mi Delirio, has just been released and here's the single by the same name.
And what a video it is. The song itself is about sexual tension and how it can make you crazy; the video takes these lyrics literally and places Anahi in a mental institution between bouts as a boy-toy in black lingerie. I really like the institutional sequences as Anahi, obviously an actress, has a real 'Bride of Frankenstein' look going in her strait jacket.
Wisin y Yandel - "Te Siento"
Here's the new Wisin y Yandel video, "Te Siento." The popular duo have just released a new album -- sort of. It's a re-release of their current hot album La Revolucion and you'll see it listed as La Revolucion, La Revolucion:Evolucion or La Evolucion. Whichever name you pick, "Te Siento" is one of the new videos on the release.
The evolution of La Revolucion includes five new tracks and remixes while the companion DVD contains eight new videos including "Imaginate" with T-Pain. So if you feel like you already have the songs, you might well go for a new batch of videos.
Mercedes Sosa /Calle 13 - "Cancion Para Un Nino En La Calle"
You might think that Mercedes Sosa and Calle 13's Residente are an unlikely duo.
But "Cancion Para Un Nino En La Calle" (Song For a Street Child) is a theme you will find in both the songs of Mercedes Sosa and Calle 13. Written by Silvio Rodriguez, it intersperses Sosa's distinctive, plaintive voice with soft rap performed by Rene Perez, Calle 13's Residente. The counterpoint between the two styles of singing really works in this number.
Ednita Nazario - "Sin Querer"
Popular Puerto Rican pop singer Ednita Nazario's new album, Soy reached #1 on the charts the week that it was released. Here's a video of the stand-out single from the album.
Alejandro Sanz feat. Alicia Keys - "Looking for Paradise"
One of the highlights of the 10th Annual Latin Grammy Awards was Alejandro Sanz and Alicia Keys on stage together. Here's the video; the song is from Sanz's new album Paraiso Express.
David Bisbal - "Esclavo De Sus Besos"
If you missed Spain's David Bisbal performing at the Latin Grammy Awards, you can watch him here. "Esclavo De Sus Besos" is from his current album, Sin Mirar Atras.
Roberto Carlos - "Un Gato En La Oscuridad (Un Gato Nel Blu)"
The years go by but Brazil's Roberto Carlos never seems to go out of fashion. This video is of a concert appearance he made at Miami's Carnival Center for the Performing Arts where he performed in Spanish.
La Excelencia - "Unidad"
La Excelencia is one of the hottest salsa bands coming out of New York, the birthplace of salsa. Here's a live performance of "Unidad" performed at New York's S.O.B.; you can find the track on Mi Tumbao Social.
Manu Chao - "Clandestino"
Manu Chao's Baionarena was filmed live at a concert performed last year at the Roman Amphitheatre in Bayonne, France. Here's a clip from one of the numbers that you'll find on the dual-disc release.
Bachata Heigthz - "Te Busco"
With the popularity of bachata still going strong, New York's Bachata Heightz is primed to release their first album, The First on December 1, 2009. The title of the new release probably refers to the fact that this is their first studio album (although they've appeared on collections in the past) but does anyone believe that it's a coincidence that the biggest act in urban bachata, Aventura, is riding high on their current album, The Last? Here's a cut from the new album.
