Puerto Rican salsero Domingo Quinones hasn't released a studio album since 2005's El Mas Buscado so this is a treat. Quinones is not only a great singer of salsa, he's also a composer, producer and actor. In fact, Quinones played Hector Lavoe in Quien Mato A Hector Lavoe? (Who Killed Hector Lavoe?) which was the basis for 2007's El Cantante. (He also had a bit part in the film).
Puerto Rican reggaeton duo Nejo y Dalmata's 2007 album Broke & Famous did pretty well so it's surprising that they're following it up with Still Broke. Still Broke features help from Plan B, Huey Dubar, Tego Calderon and Voltio.
Brazilian jazz pianist and bossa nova interpretor Eliane Elias released this album of bossa nova classics last year to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the popular Brazilian genre. If you missed it then, catch the rerelease for a chance to listen to Elias' interpretations of classics including "Girl From Ipanema", "Desafinado" and "Chega de Saudade."
Coming from a musical family (Ferran's father is Jordi Savall), Spain's Ferran Savall has long been a part of Barcelona's jazz scene. His debut album contains songs that are a mix of traditional Catalonian and South American music plus some tracks composed by Savall.
Los Angeles-based Urban kings bring Latin artists rapping in English to their public. There aren't many Latin female rappers. but Mexican born Los Angeles-based Ms. Krazie plays by her own rules and is one of the featured rappers on the album along with Chino Grande and Midget Loco.
Argentine Antonio Rios releases another album of tracks, mostly cumbia.
