2. RBD - 'Para Olvidarte De Mi'
RBD may have broken up as group but, even after Para Olvidarte De Mi fans are unlikely to forget them. "Para Olvidarte De Mi" is also the title of the break-out single from the new album.
3. Elvis Crespo - 'Live From Las Vegas'
Maybe it's just me but it seems right for Elvis Crespo to imitate his namesake Elvis Presley by headlining in Las Vegas. Puerto Rico's kinky king of merengue has released both a CD and DVD of a performance that, by all accounts, was one to write home about.
By the way, Elvis Crespo has news of his own. He married his long-time manager,Maribel Vega,in Puerto Rico last week. It was Crespo's 2nd marriage.
4. CuCu Diamantes - 'CucuLand'
CuCu Dimantels co-founded Yerba Buena with husband producer/guitarist Andres Levin. Now, one by one, the Yerba Buena artists are going off on their own, the most current of these being Diamantes herself.
CucuLand is an impressive debut. Less funky/hip hop than Yerba, the tracks are personal, her voice a pleasant surprise. CucuLand is currently available for download on iTunes.
5. Arthur Hanlon - "Piano Sin Fronteras"
This album is truly "Piano Without Borders" as pianist Arthur Hanlon collaborates with a group of his friends, each from a different country. Guest friends include Juanes, Luis Fonsi, Laura Pausini, Alexander Pires, Ricardo Montaner and more.
6. Bebo Valdes, Chucho Valdes - 'Juntos Para Siempre'
Cuban pianists, father and son, Bebo and Chucho Valdes trip the ivories together on this album originally released in 2007.
8. Alex Ubago - 'Calle Ilusion'
Spain's Alex Ubago is at his best when he sings ballads; Calle Ilusion seems to have lots of them so Ubago fans and ballad fans can both check it out.
9. Grupo Rush - 'We On Fire'
Dominican Grupo Rush releases a new album of popular bachata and merengue.
10. Kinto Sol - 'Carcel de Suenos'
Originally from Mexico, Kinto Sol is the Garcia brothers (DJ Payback, El Chivo & Skribe) now make their homebase in the midwest. Their music is hip hop with a DJ flavor and lyrics with strong political sentiments.
