3. Graciela Beltran - 'La Reina de la Banda'

Graciela Beltran is known as 'la Reina del Pueblo' but she'll have to duke-it-out with Jenni Rivera for the title of her new album to hold true. On the other hand, Beltran has a finer voice than Rivera and just as much fire. If the thunderous applause I heard at the last Beltran concert is any indication, maybe she is the title holder. Let the album speak for itself.

4. Natalia Lafourcade - 'Hu Hu Hu'

There is no doubt you're listening to an album by Mexico's Natalia Lafourcade because no one else mixes an orchestra and interesting lyrics with a mega pop sound. Lafourcade has said that Hu Hu Hu is a companion piece to her 2008 album Las 4 Estaciones del Amor but,if you don't look closely, it sounds like a children't album. It is definitely worth a closer look.

6. Francisco Cespedes - 'Te Acuerdas'

Cuban-born Francisco Cespedes new album, Te Acuerdas, is all about boleros. These are famous songs that you're probably familiar with including Armando Manzanero's "Te Extrano," Pablo Milanes' "Mirame Bien" and the Carlos Gardel standard "El Dia Que Me Quieras." There are also a few songs in English, French and Portuguese.
