Here are this week's notable new releases.

1. Juanes - La Vida Es ...Un Ratico

Oct. 23rd is the long anticipated day that Juanes new album, La Vida Es .. Un Ratico is finally available to the public. The Colombian superstar's last album, Mi Sangre was not only a multi-platinum wonder, but it reached #1 in 41 countries and sold over 4 million copies to date.

The new albums single, "Me Enamora" has been #1 for weeks, and iTunes has confirmed that La Vida is already #1 - just on the strength of its presales.

2. Don Omar - King of Kings: El Concierto Y Mas

Don Omar's 2006 King of Kings demonstrated why this reggaeton star has more than just 'party!' on his mind, with an ambitious CD with sophisticated style and socially concious lyrics. Now, here's the 'Last Don' back with a CD of his live performance during the "King of Kings" Tour.

3. Los Huracanes del Norte - Vientos Huracanados

Here's a new album by the popular and prolific norteno band, Los Huracanes del Norte.

4. Victor Hugo - Salsa Power

This Victor Hugo album has been out in Europe for awhile; this is the U.S. release date. I don't like it as much as Que Pasa, but it's still pretty good salsa.

5. Los Alegres De La Sierra - Acustico

For those of you who are not familiar with Los Alegres de la Sierra, the band specializes in banda and the Duranguense style of music and has been becoming more and more popular. Listen to "Y Si Volviera Nacer" and see what you think.

6. Zon Del Barrio - Corijo's Tribe

If you like New York style salsa, then there's a good chance that this debut album by Spanish Harlem's Zon del Barrio is right up your alley. For a taste of what you'll get with Corijo's Tribe, listen to Zon del Barrio and see if that taste makes you want the whole meal.

7. Celia Cruz - Azucar (Remaster)

Fania's vault must be endless as classic after classic gets remastered and sent back to us. Celia Cruz's Azucar is a great one to add to your collection. You can still get earlier versions, but there's little doubt the remastered CDs are worth any extra price.

8. Gato Barbieri - Bahia (Remaster)

While Bahia is a lesser known album by master Barbieri, it's a good one made after Barbieri left the bigger labels and recorded for (who else?) Fania.

9. Salsa Tribute To The Beatles

Here's a chance to hear a collection of Beatles hits done by New York salsa artists. Pulled from the vaults of the legendary Fania label, the CD includes a version of "Yesterday" sung by La Lupe and "Michelle" by the Orquesta Novel. Actually, it makes a lot of sense since Fania and the Beatles reigned in their respective areas for much of the same timeframe.

There are actually a number of Beatle tribute albums by various Latin artists. If this is the type of tribute that catches your attention, you might try Tropical Tribute to the Beatles (Compare Prices) with numbers by Celia Cruz, Tony Vega, Tito Nieves, Johnny Rivera, Oscar D'Leon, and more.
