2. Wisin Vs. Yandel: Los Extraterrestres

Wisin Vs. Yandel - Los Extraterrestres
Wisin & Yandel are probably reggaeton's most popular act. The socially conscious duo is back with an album that has guest appearances by Eve, Don Omar and Franco de Vita, among others.

It's been three years since Monchy & Alexandra, one of the most popular bachata acts in the world, put out a new studio album. "La Cartita" is the hot single from [i]Angeles Desnudos[/i}.

4. Jenni Rivera - La Dive En Vivo

Jenni Rivera - La Diva en Vivo
Banda & corrido seems to be a man's genre, but Jenni Rivera has proved that a woman can make it her own. This new live CD should be followed by the DVD.

5. DJ Bitman - Latin Bitman

Chile's DJ Bitman (formerly Bitman & Roban) brings us music that's perfect for the dancefloor, a mix of electronica & Latin beats. You can watch the "Tatita" video to see if this is a group that will get your feet moving.

6. Alberto Barros - Tributo A La Salsa Colombiana

When I think about salsa and trombone, Willie Colon & Alberto Barros are always the two artists that come to mind. Colombian trombonist Barros started with Fruko, then formed Los Titanes. A tribute to Colombian salsa sounds like an album fans of salsa dura will love.

7. Tipica 73 - Tipica 73 Live

Tipica 73 was one of the great bands that came out of New York during the Fania years. Over time, its members included Adalbert Santiago, Alfredo De La Fe and Jose "El Canario" Alberto.

There's little information about this album now, but I suspect its the live concert they did in Puerto Rico in the 1990s.

8. Frankie Negron - No Vuelvo Contigo

Urban salsero Frankie Negron is one of my favorites, and if you like New York salsa, this might be an album you want to pick up. He'll also be performing two concert dates in California this month.

9. Willie Colon - The Hustler (Remastered)

The Hustler was Colon's second album for Fania, made in 1968, the same year that his debut album El Malo came out. (Fania was notorious for pushing artists to put out more music, faster.)This album was also a collaboration with Hector Lavoe - a definite must for your salsa collection.

11. Juan Gabriel/Ana Gabriel - Simplemente Amigos (Remastered)

Also billed as being performed by "Los Gabriel", this album contains songs that were hits for both Juan and Ana. These don't seem to be duets, rather they take turn singing your favorites.
