La Original Banda El Limon de Salvador Lizarraga, one of today's most popular Mexican music bands, has released a romantic album where Banda music meets some of the most legendary Bolero tracks ever written in history. The following is a brief overview of one of the most romantic albums of 2013.

An Outstanding Bolero Compilation

La Original Y Sus Boleros De Amor is a 15-track CD featuring a selection of memorable boleros including titles like "Si Nos Dejan," "Solamente Una Vez," "El Reloj" and "Sabor A Mi."

Considering such a track listing and the band's music style, La Original Y Sus Boleros De Amor provides a great introduction to Bolero and Banda music alike. After listening to this album, I have to say the experiment of revisiting these legendary tracks with a Banda music sound brings a very nice dimension to these songs without losing their original essence.

Bilingual Tracks

Apart from its unique combination of Bolero and Banda music, this album has another innovative aspect to it: The ending part features bilingual versions of the legendary songs "Besame Mucho," "A Mi Manera" and "Solamente Una Vez."

I have to say, this is another successful experiment on this album. The three bilingual tracks are nice and this cross over addition is definitely inviting for those who are not that familiar with the sounds of Banda music.

"La Original"

Not every single track on this album is a legendary Bolero. In fact, La Original Banda El Limon de Salvador Lizarraga released this album with the brand new single "La Original," a romantic song written by Yoel Henriquez that very likely will be embraced by all the fans of the legendary band.

'La Original Y Sus Boleros De Amor' - Bottom Line

La Original Banda El Limon de Salvador Lizarraga has delivered a very nice, pleasant album. Although mixing Banda music with classic boleros was a little bit experimental, I am sure this production will appeal to fans of both genres. Besides this, adding bilingual tracks on this album was a nice move that will probably increase the overall exposure of Banda music.

I really liked the Banda arrangements that adorned each one of the legendary boleros that are featured in this album. On top of all this, and for all those who are just getting into Latin music, La Original Y Sus Boleros De Amor offers a great opportunity to get familiar with the sounds of Bolero and Banda music.
